Guidelines Enforcement Process

Flagging & Reporting

If you find content which violates our Community Guidelines, or another policy on the BitChute platform, please flag or report it via our content reporting tools.

Reporting via the Platform

The recommended method for reporting content is manually via the functionality built into the BitChute platform. Simply navigate to the page containing the content you want to report, click on the Flag icon or link, and follow the instructions. For videos, this is the Flag icon found directly below the video, and for comments this is the Flag link found directly below the comment.

It is not necessary to be logged into a BitChute account to create a report ticket. However, being logged in offers the advantage of enabling us to contact you for further information or to notify you of any actions taken. If you prefer to submit a report without being logged in to a BitChute account, be sure to make note of the URL of the reported content for purposes of follow-up.

Once your report is submitted, our content analysis team will determine which flags to apply, if any, and our guidelines will be enforced, accordingly, depending on the flags applied and viewing location. In order not to prejudice an ongoing criminal investigation, in some cases it may be appropriate for our team to refrain from proactively notifying the uploading user regarding guidelines enforcement process outcomes for illegal content.

Reporting via Email

An alternative to reporting via the platform is to send us an email via report@bitchute.com with a description, including the URL, of the content which is violating our policies. Please note that only URLs which successfully resolve on the BitChute platform will be processed using this method and there will be additional delays in processing as email submissions first need to be entered into our enforcement system.

Reporting via the API

If you are the owner of a large volume of copyrighted material, a law enforcement agency, or any other organisation which is likely to generate numerous reports, then our API may be a better option than those listed above. To get access to the Reporting API methods, contact BitChute support via support@bitchute.com. Please note that a valid BitChute account is required to access the Reporting API, and that your access may be revoked if you submit excessive invalid reports.

Appeals

We are aware that sometimes the result of a guidelines enforcement process may not be satisfactory, and that new evidence may later become available which might alter the outcome of our content analysis. For such circumstances, an appeals process has been put in place. Please note that you can appeal only content that you have posted to the platform and that you must include detailed reasoning as to why you believe the enforcement action was incorrect. Appeals with no reasoning will be rejected.

Appeals via the Platform

The recommended method for appealing enforcement actions is manually via the Appeal functionality built into the BitChute platform. Simply navigate to the page containing the content that you believe was improperly actioned, click on the Appeal icon (Gavel) found directly below the content, and follow the instructions. (Please note that on-platform appeals are not yet available for action taken on comments; please submit such appeals via email as described below.)

Appeals via Email

An alternative to appealing via the platform is to send us an email via appeal@bitchute.com with a description, including the URL, of the content that you believe was improperly actioned, along with the reason for your appeal. Please note that only URLs which successfully resolve on the BitChute platform will be processed using this method, and there will be additional delays in processing as email submissions first need to be entered into our enforcement system.
